Self-Portrait with Her Daughter Julie – Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun
£24.00
Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, 1786. Musée du Louvre, Paris.
Mother and daughter hold each other in a tender embrace, while the artist turns to us with parted lips and a glimpse of teeth, a smile that scandalised the Paris Salon of 1787. Painted by Marie Antoinette's favourite portraitist, it is one of the most touching images of motherhood in French art.
The print: Museum-quality giclée, printed on demand on heavyweight fine art paper with archival pigment inks for rich colour, deep blacks and lasting fidelity. Also available beautifully framed, or as a gallery-wrapped canvas ready to hang.
