The Cradle (Le Berceau) – Berthe Morisot
£24.00
Berthe Morisot, 1872. Musée d'Orsay, Paris.
A young mother leans over her sleeping baby, a gauzy veil drawn across the cradle in a few airy, translucent strokes. Morisot's tender portrait of her sister Edma was shown at the first Impressionist exhibition of 1874, and remains one of the most beloved works by a founder of the movement.
