The Great Wave off Kanagawa – Katsushika Hokusai
£24.00
Katsushika Hokusai, c. 1831. Woodblock print from Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.
A towering wave curls its claw-like crest over three boats of rowers. Look closer and you will find Mount Fuji, tiny in the distance, framed by the wave. The deep Prussian blue was a new imported pigment that made the print a sensation.
The print: Museum-quality giclée, printed on demand on heavyweight fine art paper with archival pigment inks for rich colour, deep blacks and lasting fidelity. Also available beautifully framed, or as a gallery-wrapped canvas ready to hang.
