William Blake, c.1819–20. Tate Britain, London.

Blake claimed this muscular, scaly spirit appeared to him in a vision, telling him that fleas were inhabited by the souls of bloodthirsty men. Cup and thorn in hand, it strides across a stage between parted curtains beneath a shooting star. Painted in tempera and gold on a tiny panel, it is one of the strangest and most unforgettable images in British art.

The print: Museum-quality giclée, printed on demand on heavyweight fine art paper with archival pigment inks for rich colour, deep blacks and lasting fidelity. Also available beautifully framed, or as a gallery-wrapped canvas ready to hang.
